Healthy New Sports Drink

Benny Pajouh was motivated to create his own replenishing drink Kul Fuel after reading about the growing scourge of childhood obesity and the declining health of older Americans.

"Things have gotten out of control," said the 43-year-old trainer and owner of two Ultima Fitness centers, in Plano and Euless.

Pajouh is planning an official product launch at his Plano fitness center in October. During the opening, there will be product samples, demonstrations, giveaways, massages, and a "fit-talk" on the impact of sugar on the body. Pajouh has agreed to donate a percentage of proceeds from the sale of the drink during the month of November to the Diabetes Association to aid in the fight against juvenile diabetes.

Pajouh is hoping that Kul Fuel, which only has 1 gram of sugar, will turn the tide on sports drinks that are loaded with sugar and caffeine. He's hoping that the public will respond to his call for a move toward a healthier lifestyle with less sugar and processed food.

In the last 20 years, sugar consumption in United States has risen from 32 pounds to 161 pounds per person, per year. Prior to the turn of the century, the average sugar consumption was only 5 pounds per person. During that time in American history, cardiovascular disease and cancer were virtually unknown.

Pajouh said his research shows that more than 80% of our food contains high fructose corn syrup, sucrose, or fructose, which is various, forms of sugar. Most companies use high fructose because it is cheap and very profitable. A major of health bars and sports drinks are packed with sugar, caffeine and have little or no protein, vitamins or minerals.

Older people need to be especially careful about what they put into their bodies, because we are what we eat, Pajouh said. Kul Fuel is good for senior because it balances their sugar levels and gives them the nutrients their body's need.

Two years, ago, a group of soccer moms asked Pajouh if he would create a drink for their children that would be a healthy alternative to sodas and juices filled with sugar.

Pajouh gathered a team made up of doctors, athletes, and scientists to create a drink that has the perfect protein-to-carbohydrate ratio together with vitamins and minerals and a dose of fiber.

Pajouh's Kul Fuel comes in two flavors and only has one gram of sugar and 26 vitamins and minerals. Pajouh said the drink is good for the entire family and it has everything a person needs to get ready for a workout, to help their body while working out and to replenish them after their work out is done.
