Camping Supplies
Most camping excursions rely on the same fundamental equipment that all campers require - shelter, food and beverages, sleeping equipment, and medical supplies. Once these basic needs have been covered, camping supplies can be lots of fun.
The recreational camping supplies you take with you will go a long way to creating a camping experience you'll want to repeat. Remember the personal interests of everyone in your group and bring camping supplies each person will enjoy.
Fishermen and hunters will want full gear to enjoy away from camp. Hikers, orienteers, and backpackers will want to take compasses, maps, and sturdy boots to supplement camping supplies.
Bookworms will need books or magazines and birdwatchers wouldn't think of leaving home without binoculars and field guides.
Field guides for birds, butterflies, rocks, and plants are wonderful to include as a permanent part of camping supplies. Every camping excursion is sure to reveal a new plant or animal and being able to correctly identify them adds to the adventure.
Sun bunnies and swimmers will need sunscreen, extra towels, and life jackets. Be sure to take all the right stuff to satisfy the canoers and kayakers, too.
Beachside camping supplies might include pails and shovels for making that once-in-a-lifetime sand castle and buckets to house a seashell collection.
Having familiar toys and games handy when they get tired of exploring new worlds will comfort small children.
Any musicians, even the wannabes, should bring along guitars, harmonicas, or other instruments. There is absolutely no better way to end a day enjoying the wilderness than with a sing-along around the campfire before drifting off into a blissfully exhausted sleep.
So remember to pack some fun. There's so much to do out there in the middle of nowhere.
