Air Travel
It seems air travel has become a mixed bag of love-hate experiences these days. Nevertheless, air travel continues to enjoy a booming business and even those who love to hate it return again and again.
Air travel is by far the quickest way to traverse long distances. It's the only way to get from one side of the country to the other in just a single day. You can even board a plane today and be on the other side of the globe tomorrow. No other form of travel offers such speed.
The fear of flying brings out the reluctance in some would-be air travelers but statistics historically confirm it as a much safer means of travel than by automobile.
Claustrophobia issues have also led some people to avoid air travel but there are ways to overcome this fear. Remember that a plane ride only lasts a few hours before landing. During layovers, be sure to take a walk through the airport terminal whenever possible.
Flights over longer distances are usually taken aboard much larger planes where the closeness of the air travel experience won't seem so confining. Sure, you'll be in the air longer but you'll have room to walk around and stretch which is probably all you really need to feel less cooped up and vulnerable.
When the dread of air travel tends to get the best of you, forget the flight and focus on the destination. How many times do expect your son to walk down the aisle to marry his one true love? Or see your granddaughter graduate from medical school?
It may seem daunting to you but isn't the air travel worth it for them?
