Low Carb Diet
I have been considering a low carb diet. I need to lose a few pounds. You know where I am; you've been there. I can't seem to get rid of that last 10 pounds. I am stuck in a rut. Perhaps a low carb diet will speed up my weight loss. I remember my mother tried a low carb diet back in the 1970's. She lost a lot of weight. I remember she complained of not feeling well often, but she's a complainer anyway. I am going to research and find a good low carb diet.
Obviously, the South Beach Diet and the Atkins diet are the first low carb diets I think of. No alcohol allowed on a low carb diet, that could be tough, but being told I must eat red meat, that has a nice ring to it. After further review the Atkins Diet seems like it might be a little too restrictive. I realize that all low carb diets are restrictive but I decide to look into the South Beach Diet instead.
It seems that by phase three of the South Beach diet it's not a low carb diet at all anymore. It's just about making good choices. OK maybe I can handle that. No calorie counting is a plus, but only a little caffeine, another downer. I like the fact that phase two of the South Beach Diet wants me to pay attention to my body and how it reacts to carbs, but will that work for me? I know sugar makes me nuts but I still eat it. Perhaps a low carb diet isn't for me. I don't think I have the self motivation required to follow such restrictions.
Rather than a low carb diet I will stick to my eating sensibly and exercise. Perhaps if I change my exercise routine a little I can get off this never ending plateau.
