Diet Exercise
Diet; Exercise; Diet; Exercise; Diet; Exercise. Which should you try? The answer is simple - both. I believe that we are so often bombarded, as a society, with news of the importance of diet and exercise we have become immune to it. We rush around; putting our jobs, our kids, and our spouses first. We forget to take time to take care of ourselves.
"Diet; exercise; who has time for that" The answer is you do. Actually you must take care of yourself or you will not be healthy enough to take care of your family.
A good and healthy diet actually takes very little time. It simply involves re-learning the food pyramid and eating accordingly. (Remember the food pyramid from grade school? It's changed a little but is still easy to learn.) The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has a wonderful web site devoted to educating individuals about healthy eating. It may mean a change of lifestyle, but the results will be worth the change. I have seen people lose 50 pounds in 9 months simply by changing the way they ate. No dieting involved, just healthy eating.
It is true that exercise takes time, but not much. There is no need to go to a gym. Why not go up and down the stairs in your own home. You have a built in stair master with no babysitter and no membership fees required. Dance with your children to their favorite sing-a-long DVD. You have spent quality time with your children and exercised for 20 minutes at the same time. Talk about multi-tasking!
Diet; Exercise; Diet; Exercise. C'mon, you know the answer.
